Interview With Goddess Sonya

1. Please introduce yourself.

Ok. Hi everyone, I'm Goddess Sonya. I'm a Professional Dominatrix, adult BDSM performer and Producer/Director for my ring of BDSM and Fetish websites collectively known as Ethnic Kink. 

2. How did you become interested in fetish/BDSM?

I kind of fell into it. I was in school and I was looking for off-the-books work that was flexible, so I answered an ad and that was all she wrote. But personally, I was always into BDSM even though I didn't know what it was when I did it. I was always very sexually aggressive and into putting men through their paces for fun.

3. What made you decide to do BDSM films?

Well, I got tired of just doing sessions wanted to do something different. I wanted to travel and I wanted to make a name for myself in BDSM. I didn't just want to be another anonymous Mistress, I wanted more control of my destiny.

I started out doing videos for OWK (Other World Kingdom, where all men serve women) in Europe and I learned the ropes working with them, directing my own films. When I saw the response I got from fans, my mind was made up.

4. What are some of the things you like to do in your down time?

Thanks for asking me that. No one ever asks me about my interests outside of BDSM. I love to visit spas and I love to go to great restaurants and have a nice meal with friends. Mostly though, I work so hard as a sole proprietor, I love to get out of New York and just veg out in Fort Lauderdale, my home away from home. I go there every winter.

5. What advice would you have for someone just starting out in the fetish scene?

I would advise ladies to do their homework and read as much as they can about BDSM and fetishes. For guys, I would advise them to look for a reputable Professional Dominant to get their feet wet before they think about seeking a Lifestyle Mistress. Reputable Professionals are better equipped to evaluate and educate you, making you a better submissive for your future intended partner.

6. What do people assume about you?

(Chuckles)  I really have think about that one. I try not to entertain what people think of me or I'd never get anything done. I guess the biggest assumption about me is that what I do is easy. Maybe I make it look easy, but it's a ton of work keeping 5 websites updated with content every week of every year. There's a lot more to it than dressing up and talking trash to a guy in front of a camera.

7. What kind of music do you like?

Oh, I like all kinds of music from Prince to MOP to Evanescence. Lately, I like Matthew Dear and especially Peter Gabriel.

8. I read somewhere that you used to model. Do you still model on the side or is BDSM fulltime?

BDSM is my first love and my last love affair. I liked modeling, but it's a different kind of hard work and then you don't own any of it afterward. In general I try to maintain as much control of my image as possible. But if the right deal came along I'd definitely be into it.

9. What is your favorite thing about being truly dominant?

Good question. I love that my strong personality is a turn on to a certain group of men. I love that I call my own shots and that I'm my own boss. But my favorite thing about being truly dominant is that none of it is an act. I'm the same person off screen as I am on screen.

10. Do you enjoy your work?  

Oh, I love every minute of it! I really love that I can daydream about something today and go into my studio tomorrow and make it happen pretty much like that (snaps her fingers).

11. Is your customer base generally male or do you have female clients?  

My customer base is pretty much male. I've had the occasional couple, but I don't think women should be submissive. I think it defies the natural order of things.

12. What separates a good slave from a bad one?

Well, first of all, no one is wholly good or bad. But a good slave in my opinion is one who is not afraid to be told what to do by a woman. He is proud to be under the control of a women and doesn't have masculinity issues. A bad slave is one who needs to be coerced or ordered to do what he's supposed to do. He is intentionally unruly and mentally undisciplined. A bad slave isn't a slave in my book.

13. What projects are you currently working on? 

I'm working on developing my latest website Sistahs in Jeans. It's a non nude website that features shapely sisters in tight denim jeans, skirts, and shorts dancing to music. It's going to be hot stuff, coming out next winter. I'm also working on developing an awards show to recognize adult BDSM websites and performers.

14. How do you feel about being offered or sent gifts? 

I love receiving gifts, as long as they are thoughtful and classy. It doesn't have to be expensive, but it does have to show you're paying attention. 

15. What is the most irritating thing a sub can ask? 

I find it forward, presumptuous and lacking in respect when a guy asks me for intimate stuff like "oral worship". Like, why would I allow a complete stranger to go down on me?

16. Do you do phone sessions or e-mail domination? 

Not really. I only do IM domination with my submissive from the UK, but I don't really have time otherwise.I'm actually in the market for a real time personal slave right now.

What Made you wanna be in the adult industry?

Technically 3 years, but the first year and a half  i did more behind the scenes work with the companies who employed me. I went in a Model? How was your 1st time on set? How did You Prepare?

Im Degreed in Elementary Education so I home pre school her so our school day is 8am until 2. Recruiting talent, Talking to my fans and do everything Dymond Hipz. Im up late nights. Its not EASY being Dymond Hipz husband, he has to get in where he fits in. Keep in mind this is what happens when im home. When I'm touring he becomes both mom and dad. Not a easy task when your juggling 3 kids. I tour a lot and usually im gone for weeks at a time. We share a Open Marriage (typical swingers lifestyle) so we both see and have sex with other people. People question this a lot but i think its a perfect situation. It works especially when most of our money relies on the sex industry!

Are You working on any up and coming projects that you are working on?

I am always working on NEW projects, lol My whole life is one big project... Whats funny is I dont see the Porn Industry as a competition while many do. I just do me, I just enjoy what i do while i have people proclaiming to be better, have done more etc but at the end of the day. I laugh at them because my work speaks for itself, while they putting time and energy into hating me im stacking papers, and making movies..

What advice would u give to sumone who wants to get on right now?

Get your game face tight. Its not and overnight sucess, its a long bumpy road ahead,alot of spending money you dont have just to find you hit a road block. You gotta believe in yourself harder than anyone and set goals for yourself. Dont give up!
